From the Deer 'n Dexter web shop you can order venison and Dexter beef online direct from our farm and farm butchery in Cumbria.  We have venison and Dexter beef for sale at local farmers markets and from the farm as well as online.

Our Dexter beef is from our herd of black and red Dexter cows.  The smallest of the traditional breeds, dexter cattle are a small dual purpose cow producing excellent milk and beef.  Our herd of around 100 Dexter cattle are reared naturally and extensively and are primarily grass-fed, calves stay with their mothers to benefit from the wonderful milk they produce until they are around 8 months, the resulting beef from our slow grown dexter cattle is well marbled and full of flavour.  We hang our Dexter beef traditionally as a carcase in our own on-farm butchery to mature for about 3 weeks before the meat is cut and packed ready for sale. 

From our herd of extensively reared Red deer, we produce venison which is lean, tender and tasty without a strong gamey flavour.  We have a small abattoir on the farm built specifically for the deer. Our butchers prepare and trim our venison to a high standard so its even better value.
